This is a 20 second exposure from the shore of the Paterswoldsemeer, a large lake south of the city of Groningen in The Netherlands. The excellent thing about making photographs in the Netherlands is that you can rely on that there are going to be clouds.
I had seen this little pier in other folk’s photographs when I did my research of promising photo spots. However, finding its location at the lake proved to be a challenge. I had just about given up when I found this little, inconspicuous road entry and followed it to the only available parking lot along the lake’s east shore. And bingo! There it was, waiting for me only 10 meters away.
