Another shot of the boss. At this point he had just woken up, found us near the base of his tree, sat down and looked us up and down for a moment, before going on to get breakfast. Our guide mentioned that this male weighed about 60 kg and that chimps have about 4 times the muscle strength per kg compared to humans. And indeed, when we saw them climb into the huge trees, or use tree roots as drums, we were really impressed by their performance. To keep up his strength, such a male needs to digest about 6 kg of fruits, roots, leaves and other goodies per day.
